This I Believe: October 6-7


  1. Students read independently for fifteen minutes.
  2. We continued to learn about the craft of writing by reviewing paragraphing and incorporating direct quotes.
  3. Mrs. Skotnicki also discussed hooks, a catchy idea the grabs the reader’s attention at the beginning of a piece of writing. Students considered both narrative hooks and essay hooks.
  5. Mrs. Skotnicki collected essay drafts at the end of class.
