  1. Students read independently for fifteen minutes.
  2. Working in small groups, students read and evaluated a series of database articles about the NSA’s data collection.
    1. What information will student A find? Will it answer his/her guiding question? What additional information should this student look for?
    2. What information will student B find? Will it answer his/her guiding question? What additional information should this student look for?
  3. Working in small groups, students considered the big picture of information, from memes to database articles.
  4. As a class, we discussed our findings.
  5. Students began to write questions to guide their research for the senior thesis by filling out this Topic ABC worksheet.
